“Mr. Irrelevant”

“No matter what adversity comes in your life,

there’s always a way out”

Every year, the player who is selected with the last pick in the NFL Draft is given the nickname “MR. IRRELEVANT,” a long held tradition within the league.

Generally speaking, the last pick of the NFL Draft usually has a short career. The majority of Mr. Irrelevants face an uphill battle on the field as a late round pick, and most don’t end up making the final roster.

However, per usual for Grant, he defied the odds once more and not only made the Buccaneers’ 53 man roster as a rookie, but carved out a pivotal role on special teams while finishing 3rd in the NFL in special teams tackles during his first year. Although given the name Mr. Irrelevant, Grant proved to be more than relevant on the field for the Buccaneers.

Philanthropy

I am excited to partner with @heelstohalos and help raise money for their organization.

After lacing up his cleats for the final time as a Houston Cougar, Grant unselfishly turned his attention to his local community. Stuard promoted a food drive through the University of Houston’s Athletic Alumni Center, which accumulated $12,000 and 2,000 LBS of food, ultimately granting many families the opportunity to put food on the table.

Likewise, during Grant’s NFL Pro Day, he participated in a campaign labeled “Reps for Halos.” This initiative was geared towards raising funds for the renowned organization, “Heels to Halos.” With the help of charitable donations and his astounding 28 reps on the bench press, Grant was able to generate $5,300 for the cause.Grant utilizes his national platform to provoke change, showing how he doesn’t simply speak on behalf of social change—he produces tangible results.
